Call for Proposals

Special Interest Sessions

ASMB seeks proposals for Special Interest Sessions at the 2027 Biennial Meeting.

Submit your application by December 15, 2026.

Do you have a topic you’re excited about? Bring it to ASMB!
Special Interest Sessions (SIS) are member-led sessions focused on a specific research topic or emerging area of interest. SIS bring investigators together to share new data, exchange ideas, and spark collaboration.

SIS can focus on any timely topic, emerging area, or shared research interest that would engage the ASMB community. Trainees are especially encouraged to participate and present their work.

Format
Each SIS will have a 90-minute time block during the ASMB meeting. The format is flexible and should be designed to fit the topic and goals of the organizers.

A typical SIS might include one or more discussion leaders and three to four speakers, but creative formats are welcome. Organizers are responsible for recruiting speakers and providing the final program information to the ASMB business office in a timely manner.

Fundraising is not required, although organizers may choose to seek support to help offset travel costs for invited speakers.

Time and Place
SIS will be incorporated into the main ASMB meeting schedule and held at the conference hotel, the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront, to encourage strong attendance and participation.

Submit Your Idea
SIS proposals should include:
•    The proposed session title and topic
•    A brief description of the session and its format
•    The names and affiliations of possible discussion leaders and speakers

We would be happy to discuss your ideas and help you develop your proposal.
Send a brief proposal by email us at [email protected].

Proposals are due December 15, 2026
